What is Nary Style?

NARY STYLE

Nary Style is a Social Enterprise in Phnom Penh, Cambodia that sells locally made silk scarves. This project was created by Nary and her sister Pech in collaboration with David Brown, a film producer/social entrepreneur from Australia and many other sponsors and contributors.

CONTRIBUTION

This business is a contribution to all involved. Customers or their loved ones receive a gift from the heart of Cambodia, this is Nary’s contribution. She is proud of her culture and would like people to experience the true spirit of Cambodia.

SUSTAINABILITY

A wage in Cambodia is around $200 per month, minimal sales are required to make a big difference to Nary and the people around her. It will provide access to medicine and education for family members and employment in the future. 

SOCIAL IMPACT

A portion of the proceeds of the business will be used to provide food and education for street children in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. On a daily basis Nary’s family feeds and takes care of street children around their restaurant in Phnom Penh.

The Palace range is a medium density silk scarf. It has a regal style reflecting the colours in the Royal Palace. Royalty has been at the centre of Khmer culture for thousands of years.

KRAMA – cotton

A Krama is a traditional Cambodian cotton scarf with many uses, a bandanna, to carry children, to cover the face, and for decorative purposes. It is the Cambodian national symbol.

about Nary & Peck

They are twin sisters born in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The family earns a living selling street food. Their father was the sole survivor of 150 of his family during the Khmer Rouge Era, they have lost their mother and two brothers since that time mainly due to insufficient funds for medical care. Nary Style will help provide sustainability for the family in the future.
